Erectile dysfunction, ED for short, or “impotence” as it is more commonly known, is a highly prevalent and emotionally charged condition that affects nearly all men at some point in their lives but becomes a serious problem for growing numbers with age.

Fortunately there are now highly effective, simple and safe remedies available but good advice is essential. Because ED may be the first indicator of other underlying conditions such as unsuspected heart disease, expert assessment is a crucial first step in overcoming the problem.

At Anglian Urology we are able to offer an expert service from our team, which includes specialists trained in all aspects of sexual dysfunction. These range from a basic consultation comprising of a history, examination and advice through to a fully comprehensive investigation, risk assessment, treatment programme and follow-up.

For instance, we will be able to offer advice on treatment options and a risk assessment relating to the likelihood of commonly associated underlying conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. At this point you may opt to be referred back to your GP or continue as a private patient.

However some patients may want more time for discussion of tests' results and treatment options on the basis that they will wish to have specialist treatment and follow up initiated within the privacy of our clinic.
